warid telecom zem prepaid program for BlackBerry

In an announcement similar to the one made by ACS in Alaska (just for the other side of the world), Emitac Mobile Solutions and Warid Telecom announced the launch of a trio of Blackberrys for all Zem prepaid users in Pakistan. Zem users now have access to the BlackBerry 8820, BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and BlackBerry Curve 8310.

Du launches BlackBerry service in UAE

Comments

DuAnnounced back in back in May, Du’s BlackBerry service has finally gone live after government approval and is now available in the United Arab Emirates. There’s quite the BlackBerry lineup for Du, including the BlackBerry 8100 for AED 1,799.00, the BlackBerry 8300 for AED 1,880.00, the BlackBerry 8700 for AED 1,350.00 and the BlackBerry 8800 for AED 2,199.00. It’s a solid start for an inaugural launch and shows that Du is clearly throwing their chips in with RIM in order to take on the current leading carrier, Etisalat. It’ll be tough going, but we certainly know what it’s like in Canada to not have much in the way of competition.

Du announces BlackBerry service in UAE

Comments

UAEAlthough Etisalat rules the UAE market, underdog du has just announced their new BlackBerry services. The launch lineup is pretty extensive, and includes the BlackBerry 8700, BlackBerry 8100, BlackBerry 8300 and BlackBerry 8800. A BBCool reader had made the point that Du has a long way to go to catch up to Etisalat. To me, getting some BlackBerrys on the shelf is a step in that direction.

Pay-per-user BES option in UAE

Comment

EtisalatThe United Arab Emirates carrier Etisalat has busted out a new option for small enterprises looking to get a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. For anything under 20 people, Etisalat is offering a presumably carrier-hosted pay-per-user BES, and to promote the new offer, they’re giving away the first license for free. On top of that, they’re cutting regular BES costs by 50% until the end of the year. Hey, corporate folks deserve some holiday savings too.
