BlackBerry Bold 9650 Now Available from US Cellular


The BlackBerry Bold 9650 is available in US Cellular stores today. The Bold 9650, which we all know as the Tour2, supports EV-DO Rev A in North America, as well as UMTS/HSPA (2100Mhz) and quad-band EDGE/GPRS/GSM networks abroad. This makes the Bold 9650 a great purchase for those who travel a lot. Also, we know the Bold 9650 will be getting BlackBerry 6, so if you’re looking for a solid trackpad device that will get the latest OS, this is a good device to consider.

Rumor: BlackBerry Curve 8530 to launch December 10th


There are some rumors going around that the BlackBerry Curve 8530 will be launching December 10th. Barring some unforeseen testing issues, this date will probably stick. With an 8530 on the way to Verizon as well, this device is going to get a decent spotlight. Remember, this is the same 8530 that we discovered will feature OpenGL, so there is some awesome app potential. It will be interesting to see if the carriers even mention it.

BlackBerry Tour 9630 now available from US Cellular



News for those who are US Cellular subscribers, the Tour 9630 is now available from your provider. The device is available for $199.95 after a $70 mail-in rebate and on a 2 year service agreement.

Hopefully US Cellular comes out with some of the newer devices, as the Tour is a little outdated for the early adopter crowd.

US Cellular launches free My Contacts Backup service for BlackBerry



US Cellular have a great service for BlackBerry users who aren’t on BES. With My Contacts Backup, you can perform a number of functions such as backup, transfer, manage, and edit contacts wirelessly. You can also remotely import contacts from Outlook and Yahoo.

This is a free service from US Cellular and it’s something that BIS users are going to love. My Contacts Backup is available for the BlackBerry 8830, 8330, 8230, and 8130.

To download MCB visit mycontactsbackup.uscellular.com.

Once you backed up the application, to restore and transfer content, follow these steps:

Step 1. Download My Contacts Backup to your supported replacement phone following the steps above.

Step 2. Login with your mobile phone number and PIN. If you are unable to remember your PIN, click here to have it sent to your phone via a text message.

Step 3. From the My Contacts Backup Main Menu, click “Backup” to transfer your contacts to your replacement phone.


Remember to swap your BlackBerry battery every 18 months

It is recommended that you change your BlackBerry battery every 18 months to ensure optimum performance. If you’re a US Cellular customer, that isn’t a problem because they’ve announced that they’re offering a new battery swap plan for US Cellular subscribers. The plans allows you to swap a dead battery for a fresh one, if you’ve purchased your device in the last 18 months and you’re experiencing a short battery lifespan.

For everyone else who isn’t with US Cellular, you should consider spending the money to buy one every 18 months.



BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 comes to US Cellular



The carrier US Cellular is getting the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230. The Pearl Flip is the only BlackBerry flip phone and is targeted at a younger BlackBerry consumer demographic.

The Pearl Flip, with its 2.6-inch main display, 2-megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth and GPS sensor will become available at US Cellular sometime in the middle of June.

US Cellular’s subsidized pricing for these devices has not been revealed.
