BlackBerry 8830 shows up on Bell’s website (with pricing)

Well, lookee here: seems like Bell is set to roll out the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition a few weeks before fellow North American carrier Sprint. Longtime staffer Steve St. Pierre escaped from the hellish cage that is “contract work” long enough to email us that the BlackBerry 8830 can now be found on Bell’s website, along with contract info.

Sadly, it looks like Canadian BlackBerry users are set to be boned once again on pricing. Bell users are looking at $300 on a 3 year contract, $550 for a 2 year contract, $650 for a 1 year contract and a whopping $700 straight up. No word yet on some sort of rebate plan, but let’s hope so — otherwise the price differential between a Verizon/Sprint and Bell 8830 would be a hard-to-swallow $250 bucks. Yeesh.

Mad props to Steve St. Cool for the tip.

I have faith that you can find different and less offensive adjectives than "boned up" to convey your point. I would rather be able to listen to what you have to say than have the way it was said detract from it.

Its the price cdma users MUST pay to use 2nd rate proprietary technology. Better to upgrade to a GSM provider.
