New social news and content site for BlackBerry

Buzzwire has recently announced a new community-driven, mobile destination site that is optimized for BlackBerry. The site is designed to help users navigate and share the best content on the mobile web. Each day you can view the top articles submitted by the community and see what other people like. Think of it as Digg or Reddit for BlackBerry. The service is free and is available by going to in your device’s browser or go here to sign up.

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of these sites because I find it’s far more browsing than reading. Although they sometimes point me to an article I like, it makes my browsing experience about a thousand times longer than it should have been.

Great idea. I know Reddit and Digg have a bunch of mobile apps, the sites as a whole aren’t optimized for mobile use. This one could have a great market.

I’m not a huge fan of socialbookmarking sites myself, either. BUT, I do wonder if there’s something in them for mobile in that they help spotlight content and give users shortcuts - which would help the difficulty so many users have in navigating across a wide range of content sources from their mobiles.
