RIM Launches BlackBerry Music Gateway

RIM is introducing a new accessory, the BlackBerry Music Gateway, I’ll be having a closer look tonight at BlackBerry World. The new BlackBerry Music Gateway lets you wirelessly stream music to your home or car stereo from your BlackBerry, BlackBerry, PlayBook tablet or any Bluetooth enabled device that features the new A2DP and AVRCP protocols.

Once connected to the BlackBerry Music Gateway, customers are able to control their music from up to 30 feet away from the stereo, without missing a single beat. This is essentially an updated BlackBerry Stereo Gateway with NFC handshaking, support for Playbook and lots of other industry standard Bluetooth devices.

Getting music on your BlackBerry has never been easier. Customers can sync their personal music library, purchase albums and songs from the BlackBerry Music Store or stream music from the numerous BlackBerry App World™ music apps such as BBM™ Music, Pandora or Slacker, for a rich multimedia experience.

I was a big fan of the BlackBerry Stereo Gateway, it was a good feeling when arriving home and the music would “like magic” switch over to my home stereo.

The new peripheral will be available in June 2012 and will be available at RIM’s official accessory site for US$49.99
